We CAN build our Reading Life

Today we started a new Unit in Reading called Readers Build Good Habits. To kick off the unit, we worked together to build a structure out of cups and then a structure out of marsh mellows and toothpicks. We watched a time lapsed video of a house being built and talked about all the supports that have to be in place in order for the house to stand strong. The students now know that reading will take many helpers that will included: the teachers, parents and friends. They know they are in charge of their reading life and growth and they are the BOSS.
